Tadaharu (Tad) Wakabayashi served as President of SmithKline Beecham in Japan and as Vice President of SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals for six years until November 1992. At SmithKline, Tad Wakabayashi was responsible for building a $300 million ethical pharmaceutical business with 950 employees in Japan. During his 22 years career in the pharmaceutical business, Tad Wakabayashi also served as Executive Director of Marketing at Banyu Pharmaceuticals, and Director of Business Development and Board Member of Merck Sharp and Dohme(Japan) Co., Ltd. He holds an MBA degree from California State University at Los Angeles and attended the PMD course at Harvard Business School. He established Tad International Ltd. in 1993 in Tokyo, Japan and Tad International, LLC. in California, U.S.A. in 2004 to advise Japanese, European and American pharmaceutical companies on how to develop their business in Japan.
